Our story
Conceptual Math grew out of decades in the lecture hall. Again and again, students who could execute a procedure perfectly had no idea what it meant — and the moment they understood the concept, everything else fell into place. After retiring, our founder began writing those explanations down, and they became this site.
Our mission
Our mission is to help people understand mathematics rather than merely perform it, by explaining the concepts beneath the procedures as clearly and honestly as possible.
